Tyrant Harry Reid

“I will vote for Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban,” Reid stated. “I will vote for [an] assault weapons ban because maintaining law and order and saving lives is more important than preventing imagined tyranny. Today I choose to vote my conscience, not only as Harry Reid, a United States Senator, but also as a husband, a father, a grandfather, and — I hope — a friend to lots and lots of people.”

That statement, uttered by Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) is all you need to know about “imagined” tyranny.

A United States Senator deciding to vote his “conscience” rather than voting in a manner that upholds the United States Constitution is a tyrant.  A Senator who votes for safety over liberty is a tyrant.

This, readers, is what is wrong with America today.  When our leaders turn their backs on the founding principles of this country in order to mollify their consciences or to enhance public safety at the expense of a right that is guaranteed by our Constitution, our country is in grave peril.

Never has the land of the free been so close to becoming the land of the enslaved, only because “leaders” like Harry Reid would choose to no longer allow us to be the home of the brave.  Rather, we are becoming the home of the coddled.

A government big enough to give you everything you need (including safety) is big enough to take away everything you have (including freedom).

Keep this in mind as you contemplate how to cast your votes in Delaware’s elections.  Our own Senators, Coons and Carper, follow the same dark path as Reid.  And, our state Senators and Representatives are currently debating legislation that is nothing more than “feel good” propaganda that is supposed to keep the public safe, but will fail to actually do so.
